THE FIGHT AGAINST
NATIONAL CITIZENSHIP REGISTER:
I CAN JOIN
It is quite frequently seen that the churches and
priests are demanding that the NRC shall not be implemented in India.
Surely Christ had preached against the
demarcation of states and advocated for universal brotherhood. This he preached
by offering even his body for that cause. Unto death he did not defended himself.
Gandhiji sought the Home Rule by denying the foreign goods, especially the
foreign dresses. He never burned his neighbor’s dress. He acted by burning his
own foreign dress and sacrificing to that core.
Now coming to the question of NRC, we also, as
church shall follow our lord and savior Jesus Christ. Before trying to take the
mole out of the eyes of others, let us remove the beam out of our own eyes.
The churches have also attained the status of
states in the modern era. They have their own territory in the means of Parish
property, the cemetery, institutions and many more. It has its own law, though subject
to the sovereign law of the land (Sovereignty is not an essential ingredient of
a state). It has its own head of state. It has its own parliament. It has its
own executive body. And most important, it has its own population and its own citizenry.
Beyond that, it has its own resources to
be shared only among its citizens!
Now based upon the universal brotherhood, as
preached by Jesus Christ, let us follow it meticulously and allow free
membership and citizenship to all those who are coming across without any
hinderance. For that to be achieved, we shall first destroy the citizenship
register maintained by each parish. Let us start this exercise of protest
against the citizenship register by first burning our own citizenship register (Membership
register as we named it) in public and call for universal brotherhood. Let us
treat every human with equality and dignity, without any discrimination in any
name. Let that person be walking across from other parish, other church, other
religion or from other nation. A human is a human and each are the equal
children of God the Almighty. So, let us start our protest against the citizenship
register by becoming an example to the world. Let us first burn our such registers
and records in the name of Jesus Christ. Let us allow anybody and everybody to
be buried in our cemetery. Let us allow everybody voting rights in our parish
elections.
So, after
taking the beam out of our eyes, we can move ahead to remove the Citizenship
register of each nation. We can ask all nations in the world to desist from
deportation and expulsions of migrants. Let
us first show the way to share the available resources with every human being.
Let us be the leaders by being the example!
I will be the front runner, if any church or Christian
priests come out with such a practical solution. Then I can join with their
movement against National Citizenship Register.
Till then I will call them Hypocrites and Brood
of Vipers. (Pardon me to quote Christ and John The Baptist!)
